French Alps, June 2006

With time and training lacking (particularly for new father Paul), we ditched the panniers for 4 days of hardcore Alpine climbing

Based in the cycling Mecca that is Bourg d'Oisans, we had 4 days to take in all le Tour's most famed cols: Glandon, Croix de Fer, Lautaret, Galibier, Les 2 Alpes, and the famed 21 hairpins of Alpe d'Huez. From the blistering heat of the valleys to the glacial cold of the peaks, this is the landscape of cycling legends. And because we were back in France, it was time to get the rosé in, zh?

Day 1 - Glandon - Croix de Fer - Mollard (125km)
Day 2 - Lautaret - Galibier (98km)
Day 3 - Alpe d'Huez - Sarenne - Les 2 Alpes (85km)
Day 4 - Ornon (47km)
