Day 7 - Vic - Vic (50km)Awaking in a half-way decent hotel and knowing that we didn't have to pack our panniers for another day on the road was a delight. And so we celebrated by sitting in Vic's vast Plaza Mayor, sipping soft drinks and getting down to a good long read. Do we know how to celebrate? I think so.
![]() Resting, reading and sweating in Vic's main square Unfortunately, my 30-something London novel wasn't substantial enough to satisfy my poor concentration span, so I left Paul engrossed in Orwell's account of the Spanish Civil War and had a leisurely stroll round the few sights of Vic (notably the fine frescos in its church). Finally, we couldn't stop ourselves giving the old legs a bit of a workout. With the sun emitting slighty less sweltering rays, we took to the bikes - delighting in their pannier-less lightness. A lovely round trip in the undulating countryside around Vic was the perfect note on which to end our mini Tour of Catalonia. That night, we finally cracked open the Bull's Blood wine I'd been unnecessarily weighing my panniers down with since Barcelona. See, we do know how to celebrate. I think so.
