Despite not having touched a bike in a long time, we came up with the idea of a touring holiday in Catalonia. Then we got a taste for sweat, pain and some spectacular scenery - and we were hooked... While Barcelona's beach and culture may have warmed us to Catalonia, it was the region's mountains that really got us sweating. From strange circular dances to Dali and the Olot school of painters, this was as much about cultural insights as emulating Indurain, Delgado, Bahamonntes, Heras et al.
