Madrid & around, August 2001

Paul wasn't there... boo hoo. No, but Matt was - even if he did have a tendency to get lost somewhat more...

Back to Spain. This time without Paul, but Rich and Matt still made for a fearsome climbing duo. The chosen terrain was the rugged territory of the Sierra de Guadarrama, north of Madrid. It is these mountains that often form the final battleground in the Vuelta, before the 3-week race arrives in the Spanish capital. And so we did battle - with our crappy hire bikes, most of the time.
